My 6 R's Method: Tired Mama? 6 energizers for busy Moms!
Let's go from Overwhelmed to Overjoyed!
1. Rest - nap when needed (around 10-20 min) *create an evening routine and stick to it *focus on getting 7-9 hours of sleep *go to bed 1 hour earlier than normal and go screen free for the last hour before bed - try this for at least one week and see how much better you feel by the end of the week.
2. Refuel - Drink water all day long (1 gallon a day) *Snack wisely - eat healthy snacks *Don't skip meals - especially breakfast *Eat a well balanced diet (not dieting - diet as in food you intake) of healthy carbs, fats and proteins that are nutrient dense. Empty calories won't sustain you - make sure the food you eat is nutrient dense.
3. Recreate (PLAY!) - Quality time with kids - try 15 min of uninterrupted play time with your kiddos (play with them - ditch the dishes and laundry for a bit and just have fun together!) Make time each day/week to be the "fun mom" *Take a Mommy break - Exercise, schedule a girls night out, listen to music, sit down with your feet up, breathe, listen to a podcast or audio book, read a physical book, dance in the kitchen, go for a walk, go for a bike ride, write in your journal, be still, spend time outside in nature, etc.
4. Refresh - Shower, get dressed and ready for the day. Dress up in your cutest clothes - remember you "dress for success". If you want your day to go well, show up and dress up - you'll be amazed how much better you feel when you take time to take care of yourself.
5. Recharge - Open the blinds and windows - let the sunlight in, go outside - sit on the porch or lay on the grass and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, go for a hike or bike ride, water the garden, swing on a swing, do some outdoor yoga, etc.
6. Refocus - prioritize what matters most to you - What actually needs to get done vs. the forever to do list, choose 3 main priorities and if you get those done - then you call it a win for today. Simplify your to do list - use your time blocks to help you refocus on what matters most within each role of your life.

93. Guest conversation with Stefanie Gass (Part 2 of 2)
Show Notes:
-Run a biz on little to no social media - delete apps on weekends, extend breaks off social, get off social for 30 days-6months...try it out,
build your online business God's way.
-Balance home/family/biz/mom life - Seasons of life... sometimes we are in a sprint and sometimes we are in a slow season, boundaries - create hard/fast boundaries for when work stops and when family time begins - fill your life with more intention and purpose. Choose not to work on weekends or during vacations or family time - keep work and family life separate.
-Planning - Time blocks...use them! (Just like we teach you here at High Five Motherhood - Stef Gass believes in them and uses them too...and so should you!) Use your time blocks to plan out your work flow each week.
-Intentionally living - start with where you are and add to it. Stack one habit on top of the next until you have a beautiful working system in place.
-How to stay productive and keep energy levels high in busy seasons of life - get your health in order - eat healthy, get adequate sleep and exercise regularly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***4ways*** to stay productive & keep energy levels high
1. God's word - spend time with God in the scriptures for at least 10 min. a day (add more as you create the habit - get up to 1hour)
2. Healthy food - fuel your body with good food!
3. Exercise - make time for fitness. Workout 5-6 days a week. Rest on the Sabbath
4. Rest - Prioritize sleep! Strive to get adequate sleep every night
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fuel your body, mind and spirit everyday
Ask yourself - "what's the obstacle (excuse)?" Then go and find the solution!
Ask yourself - "What's the RUSH?" - why do we as Moms feel the need to constantly rush? Rush to do the dishes and the laundry, rush to get the errands done, rush to get dinner on the table...rush to be everything! Lay it down, let it go... you only have so much time with your littles - make it count. Take it all in and enjoy every minute of it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Burnout/overwhelm - what do you do when you hit burnout as a Mom? - Read the book "don't let the devil have a seat at your table".
How to overcome burnout -
1. Do a mini reset - Take a break for 10 min outside in the sunshine. Be still. Breathe. Drink some coconut nog for fun! haha
2. Do a full reset - Go on a weekend getaway or a full vacation when needed. Give yourself permission to take time off. Unplug. Enjoy the small things.
3. Create a new system - sometimes our current systems in place just aren't working out. Take time to see the problem areas and make time to create solutions for them by designing a new system to solve the issues at hand.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ask yourself - why and I burned out or overwhelmed right now? What's the solution?
Delegate/automate - systems in your home and biz - Home = kids chores! Put your kiddos to work. Help them to become good housemates. Teach them to clean up after themselves. Reward them for doing work. Hire out! Hire house cleaners if needed, don't be afraid to ask for or seek out help. Work= outsource everything! Do not ever try to do it all on your own, its way too much! Ask for help! Trade if needed until you can afford to hire help. Automate - pre-record, pre-schedule all of your content and consolidate as much as possible.
One action step you can take now - Ask yourself - when is my work time this week - start there. Time block it in into your weekly blocks

Show Notes for Episode 90. Traveling for the holidays? 5 tips on how to organize your suitcase for travel this holiday season.
1. Plan your itinerary - Know your dates/times/location. Book your flights/rental car/hotel ahead of time, try to do it way in advance. Check the weather. Ask yourself what will you be doing each day? What activities or excursions will you be participating in? What clothing or items do you need to pack for those activities? Will you be indoors, or out on the go? etc.
2. Make a packing list - Use our free printable packing checklist or create your own. Guess what? We have a special gift for y'all! It's my birthday this month - so to celebrate, we are putting together a little holiday gift bundle for you! If you pre-order your home management binders next week - you will get 25% off the holiday gift bundle and receive your home management binder before it's launched! Thats right! The early bird special is yours if you take advantage of this holiday gift bundle starting next week! Doors won't open for long - so be sure to go out and snag yours next week!
3. Organize with packing cubes - I use baggail packing cubes for all of my clothes and it has made a world of difference! They are great tools to help you stay organized on your next vacay, not to mention they help you save space in your suitcase! Win-win! Pro-tip - roll your clothing into outfits from your underwear to your pants/shirts - keep each outfit in one bundle to save space and stay organized. Dont forget your toiletry bag and mesh zipper pouches too!
4. Always keep toiletry bag packed- Use travel size items or create your own. Restock your bag every time you get home from a trip - so it's always ready to go at a moments notice for whenever you may need it.
5. Plan ahead for laundry - place an empty laundry bag, garbage bag or grocery bag in your suitcase to keep your dirty laundry separate from the clean. Pro-tip for travel - do your laundry the last day of your vacation and pack a suitcase full of washed clothes. When you arrive home - all you have to do is put away clean clothes, laundry is already done! Voila!

Show Notes:
Preptober Series - Emergency Preparedness - 4 tips on how to make your own 72 hour kits for each member of your family
1. create a family survival kit checklist - either come up with ideas and create your own... or print off the one we made just for you! Yes, we have a free 72 hour kit checklist ready for you on our website! Check it out at http://www.highfivemotherhood.com. Check things off as you are gathering items from around the house, shopping for items needed or placing items in your bags.
2. Gather or shop for your bag & contents - It's important to find a good, sturdy/durable hiking type backpack as your 72 hour kit bag. They won't hurt your back as easily and tend to be lighter to carry too. You can find most if not all of your items needed at Walmart, Amazon, or even your local grocery store. So don't feel like you have to go to a specialty sporting goods store to get your items needed. Small costs add up quickly - so be aware of your budget as you are shopping for your needed items. Also, good rule of thumb is to always use what you have to work with first before going out and buying new items.
3. Pack bags & choose where to store them - have every family member get their backpacks out and fill them together at the same time. This prep time can be a great family night activity where everyone gets to be involved. You can also snack on the previous goodies in the bag and replace them with new ones as you rotate it throughout the year. It's also important to write down the name of family member and items missing when checking things off each of their checklists - then don't forget to gather or shop for those items and place them in their bags as soon as possible. Don't procrastinate - do it when its on the front of your mind, your future self will thank you! Practice your emergency plan/drills with your family and where to meet up for your safe spot. The more you practice this process with your kiddos - the more second nature it will be and the less they will fear if it ever does end up happening for real.
4. Rotate items every 6 months - Generally we try to rotate our 72 hour kits every 6 months - so it's easiest for us to do it around April and October along with general conference. Doing it at that time helps engrain it in my brain better. So you can try that out with your family too! Check dates! Food expires faster than you think - so make sure to check for expiration dates and switch things out. Also rotate clothes (size up when growth spurts happen for kids), rotate water to help it taste better/avoid plastic leaching into your water, etc. Rotate entertainment/comfort items according to age level and preference too. For example - don't have a baby toy in there for a teenager or a coloring book in there for a baby.
